Sad news today, as the Sony to stop selling PSPs in Japan this month, and in Europe later this year, according to Yahoo News. This comes after the news that PSPs were cancelled in America back in January, saddening 'Muricans. Sony haven't given a reason for the PSPs departure, but my guess is that they want to concentrate on selling more PS VITAs, a console that's been one of the victims of the rise of mobile gaming, which could mean the end of the Handheld Gaming Saga. Whoops, I used the word saga! Please don't sue me, King!
Anyways, the PSP sold over 76 million console, as of 2012, and was quite famous for it's controversial 2005 marketing campaign, where Sony paid graffiti artists to spray paint adverts about the PSP. Yup, nothing says "Down with the system!" like being paid to spray paint a capitalist advertisement. Anyways, in it's time, the PSP had many great games released for it, notably God Of War: Chains Of Olympus and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, but also lead to the release of the extremely unpopular PSP Go, a PSP with no disc drive, which was cancelled in all countries expect America back in 2011. Even games consoles get liberty in the Land Of The Free.
What do you guys think? Will you miss the PSP? Or did you stick with the DS? Tell us in the comments below!
